What we finance, and who funds it
We arrange cannabis equipment financing for licensed producers through Canadian banks and specialised leasing institutions that will lend into the sector. Cultivation lighting, racking and benching, HVAC, dehumidification and environmental control, extraction and distillation equipment, trimming, drying and curing systems, and packaging, labelling and compliance lines all qualify, new or used. A room can be financed as a room, covering environment, lighting and benching together rather than piece by piece.
Environmental control is the production system
In indoor cultivation, HVAC and dehumidification are not building services — they are the equipment that determines yield, quality and whether a crop is lost to mould. That makes climate plant the highest-consequence purchase in the facility and usually the first one worth financing properly, with terms set against the real service life of industrial-grade equipment rather than a short horizon.
Lender appetite is narrower here, and we say so
Not every institution will write this sector, and a file sent to the wrong desk comes back declined rather than priced. We place these applications with institutions that already lend to licensed producers, and we tell you at the outset where the appetite sits rather than letting a file wander. Licence standing, facility status and offtake arrangements carry more weight in this sector than in any other on this site.
Capacity added against demonstrated demand
The producers financing equipment today are generally expanding a line that is already selling rather than building speculative capacity, and lenders read that distinction closely. Equipment tied to an existing supply agreement or a proven product underwrites very differently from a greenfield room. Applications above $250,000 require financial statements, and the licence documentation sits alongside them. Describe the facility and the equipment going in, and we identify which lenders will price it.
